Emerald City Holiday Project
We started the Emerald City Holiday Project in order to raise donations in various forms to help the less fortunate youth and families who reside in the greater Seattle area. We do this in conjunction and collaboration with other Seattle organizations that have similar goals but different platforms from which to perform their efforts.
The collaborative nature of Emerald City Holiday Project allows us to reach more individuals in the community and create more successful fundraisers. Emerald City Holiday Project’s goal is to co-host up to four fundraising events each year that directly benefit the youth and families in Seattle who are in need.
Let’s take a closer look at the principal event of the Emerald City Holiday Project that we are pleased to be hosting this holiday season. We have no doubts it will make a positive difference in the lives of underprivileged Seattle residents.
Tailgate for Tots
Tailgate for Tots is the signature event of Emerald City Holiday Project. At this event, attendees bring toys and donations rather than paying a fee to enjoy the tailgate celebrations. The toys and money that are donated at Tailgate for Tots are distributed to children and families that may not otherwise receive any toys during the holidays.
Rather than hosting this event at a Seahawks game like we have in years past, Emerald City Law Group has decided to hold it at Hellbent Brewery in Lake City when the Seahawks are playing the 49ers on December 16th at 1:00 pm. This will allow for a more organized and relaxing event. Attendees can expect plenty of food, drinks, and fun.
Our firm will be distributing all the proceeds raised throughout Tailgate for Tots through a non-profit organization called Meadowbrook Community Care. Based in North Seattle, Meadowbrook Community Care is focused on building a strong, healthy, and successful community. The organization focuses on family and educational support, emergency community engagement, and emergency housing.
In the past four years, Emerald City Law Group has distributed all of the actual toys to families before Christmas. Since the date for distribution will have already passed by the date of the event, we encourage attendees to bring donations. While we will accept toys, donations are highly recommended.
We will be presenting Tailgate for Tots with Hellbent Brewery, in collaboration with Lake City Legends. Founded in 2010, Lake City Legends strives to provide a lifelong career mentorship program for low-income, inner-city elementary school children. Children are connected with mentors that can help them identify which career they are most suitable for and support them in achieving their career goals.
